The cast iron inspection surface plate serves as the measuring basis, which is used:
- For inspecting the machinery parts' geometric tolerance such as flatness, straightness, etc.
- To the scribing, abrasive machining, equipment installation, and more.
- This iron inspection plate could be plate type or box type in appearance.
- Precision: Grade0, Grade1, Grade2, Grade3
Once the cast iron inspection surface plate is abraded, it can be scraped again to restore the precision. Additionally, you can use the coloring method to inspect the flatness, which is accurate, direct, and convenient.
Size
- Range: 100mm×100mm to 4000mm×10,000mm
- For the larger ones, we can use the splicing method
Remark
The quality of both cast iron and thermal treatment has a great impact on the performance of the surface plate. The working surface will deform as a result of the larger remaining inner stress. If the product is not processed to be abrasion resistant, it can't maintain its precision after having been used for some time. Furthermore, it cannot obtain the minimum roughness if the scraping is difficult.
Because of the aforesaid reasons, we should choose the proper cast iron and use the aging treatment to eliminate the residual stress of the cast iron precision ground plate.

Inspection Method
Inspection Standard: Coloring method for inspection
- Grade0 and Grade1 Types: within each side of 25mm2, there are at least 25 points.
- Grade2 Type: within each side of 25 mm2, there should be at least 20 points.
- Grade3 Type: within each side of 25 mm2, there should be at least 12 points.
